“Borei” is what the Khmer people use to describe the word “community“. In that essence bringing us to who and what we are at “Borei Angkor“, meaning the sacred center of early Khmer cultural and political development. It all started with a dream that would turn into a call for action to unite the Khmer people from all walks of life to come together and create a center for the preservation and enrichment of the ancient Khmer traditions. Borei Angkor, Inc. is a center to preserve and continue educational developments for the Khmer heritage that was once almost diminished into extinction by an event destined to wipe out any memories of all Khmer ways of life. We want to encourage and keep that light alive to pass down this dream for future generations and others who seek to understand what the history of the ancient Khmer civilization was like. Even if it’s just a simple and humble beginning like a seed of rice to start a field of hope. We own a land compound of 362 acres in North Carolina, U.S.A..
